The Marks Are In!

As the 2025 cricket season draws to a close, the Home Counties Premier League has released its End of Season Marks, covering everything from pitch quality to hospitality and fair play. These scores highlight the efforts of clubs both on and off the field, celebrating excellence and identifying areas for growth ahead of the 2026 season.

Below is a summary of the key results across both Division 1 and Division 2.


Division 1

Pitch Quality

Henley topped the table for pitch performance with a total score of 16.5, closely followed by High Wycombe on 16.375.
At the other end of the table, Harefield finished last with 14.111.

Henley scored particularly highly for Carry and Bounce (4.625), setting the standard for consistent playing surfaces.


Facilities & Hospitality

Clubs were also judged on their grounds, catering, and hospitality.

  • Top performers: Great Brickhill (13.556) and Oxford Downs (13.333)
  • Strong scores: High Wycombe (13.250) and Henley (13.125)
  • Lowest score: Aston Rowant (11.250)

These marks reflect the matchday experience for players, officials, and supporters.


Fair Play & Conduct

Respect and sportsmanship were assessed based on feedback from umpires:

  • Oxford Downs led the way with 17.889, showing excellent conduct and cooperation.
  • Great Brickhill also scored highly with 16.833.
  • Aston Rowant finished last with 15.938, highlighting room for improvement in 2026.

Division 2

Pitch Quality

Division 2 saw Datchet deliver the highest pitch score across both divisions, finishing with a superb 17.444.

  • Second place: Falkland (16.667)
  • Lowest score: Gerrards Cross (13.667)

Facilities & Hospitality

Datchet and Falkland also shone off the field, claiming the top two spots:

  • Datchet – 14.222
  • Falkland – 14.111
  • Lowest scores: Gerrards Cross and Bicester & North Oxford, both on 11.000.

Fair Play & Conduct

Thame set the benchmark for fair play with an outstanding 18.471, the highest of any club in either division.
Meanwhile, Datchet sat at the bottom of this category with 16.167, despite leading in other areas.
