Mohit Babu Is The Latest Signing To Join Harefield As They Have Continued To Bolstered Their Squad Ahead Of Their Return To The Home Counties Premier League, Division One.

The Hares have now added four players as they prepare to play top-flight premier league cricket in 2025.

The latest player, Babu, is an extremely talented young cricketer. A fast bowler with lots of raw pace and skill, Babu joins from Amersham. As well as representing Bucks Cricket through the age groups, he has also played for the county’s Second XI.

Stephen Croft’s side were dominant throughout last season as they eased to the division two title, losing just once. They are now making plans to establish themselves with four new signings coming in at The Woods Cricket Ground. Babu joining the trio of Baltej Tattla, Zain Ali and Ashish Padki.

Top order batter Baltej joins from Didcot, where he had a very successful season in the top division of the Cherwell League. He finished the season averaging 44, including one hundred.

Zain, currently an Imperial University student, signs from Brondesbury and has previously represented Oxfordshire and Oxfordshire U18s. He made his National Counties debut against Devon in the 2024 Trophy competition. Zain is a young opening batter who joins the Hares with the aim of pushing for regular Premier League cricket.

Their final signing is Padki, who has returned to the club after a season with St Albans . Ashish is a very talented young left arm spinner, and is capable of brilliant spells such as his 5-67 vs Wokingham for the Hares in 2023. He has previous experience with Loughton and he also donned the colours of Potters Bar (2021-22).

The club have grown in recent years with a talented crop of younger players, who are now establishing themselves in the Home Counties. They have also benefitted from having solid overseas players from New Zealand in Nick Kelly and Sean Solia. They have reaped the rewards of having an excellent club ethos and spirit and will be looking to compete in the league’s top division.
